ELEY KISHIMOTO x BEN WILSON ADULT FLASH CHAIRFIX

Reminiscent of childhood wooden airplane models, the Adult Flash Chairfix is a modern furniture creation by Eley Kishimoto in collaboration with Ben Wilson that ships as one sheet of pop out pieces to be put together into a working piece of artistic furniture by the customer. The build it yourself chair is a nice playful touch in an industry that is often a bit too stuffy to take serious. A breathe of fresh air, we can only hope to see more of these fun furniture collaborations in the future.

The chair assembly kit is currently available from the Eley Kishimoto web store for around $170 USD.

RACHEL COMEY BAGS

While at Opening Ceremony this week, I happened to catch a glimpse of the new series of bags by the colorful designer Rachel Comey. Always a fan of her unique men's shoe offerings, it came as no surprise that her first collection of bags displayed great shapes and vibrant patterns. Marketed as high end hiking accessories, the collection includes backpacks, knapsacks, and a clutch in a variety of patterns and colorways.

The price is a bit steep, but if youre the kind who likes her bag to stick out, these pieces are a good pickup.

SUPREME SUNNIES

Continuing on their quest for overall street domination, the good people over at Supreme have ventured into the eyewear game. For their first attempt at this competitive market, the streetwear brand is rolling out two styles of handmade sunglasses, the Dekker which is available in three colorways, and the Loc available in two colorways. FEATURED EXHIBIT: SHEPARD FAIREY'S 'MAY DAY' AT DEITCH PROJECTS

For his most recent installment, now celebrity street artist Shepard Fairey has taken over the Deitch Projects show space in Soho with his exhibition, "May Day." Not surprisingly, the art displays his standard propaganda pieces with underlying messages for the masses. The show depicts a series of iconic revolutionary portraits and images in a series of red and black color variations and is not one to miss.

As part of the exhibit, the noted creator of the iconic OBEY pieces also put a mural up on Houston street in NYC for the public to enjoy on their daily commute. Be sure to get over and see the exhibit soon as it only runs through May 29.

IF YOU DON'T BELONG, DON'T BE LONG

Stopped by the opening of Scott Campbell's first solo exhibition in NYC last Thursday and it was quite the scene. Put on by the good folks at OHWOW, A-ron The Downtown Don had everyone chomping at the bit to get a look at Scott's latest work. Most known for his intricately cut stacks of $1 bills, Scott creates amazing bas relief pieces. All of the hanging reliefs are stacks of bills 100 deep, some of which even have layered sheets of uncut bills straight from the mint. There are 2 particularly well crafted pieces (a heart and a skull) that are stacks of 500 deep. Also featured are some cool hologram paintings and a series of etchings. Gallery hours are 12-6pm, Wednesday- Sunday. If you're in the Soho area stop by 109 Crosby to get the full effect of the work.
