ENGINEERED GARMENTS SPRING/SUMMER 2010 LOOKBOOK

Heritage inspired brand Engineered Garments recently released their Spring/Summer 2010 collection lookbook. For this season, the brand has stepped slightly out of their box by including more color than usual in the collection. Not sure how I feel about the lookbook as a whole, but individually there are some really great themes and pieces. The line includes some nice layered looks and as always, the reliable brand produced another great lineup of timeless jackets and ties.

"HOMELESS, NOT HOPELESS" PRINT

The "Homeless, Not Hopeless" print is part of an initiative by the artist known as Above to raise money for the homeless and unemployed in the Northwest through the The Transitions Project. Each piece is screen printed and hand painted by Above with watercolor paint. Only 100 signed and numbered prints were created and 100% of the proceeds go back to the Transitions Project. Best part is, they sell for only $49 USD a piece and go a long way in helping the cause!

These are a great way to not only do your part in helping the growing unemployment issue in America, but also to have a great piece of art for your own collection.

LP PLAYER CONCEPT BY CHARLIE PYOTT

The days of Vinyl may finally be back with this LP player concept by Charlie Pyott. The player itself is so compact that you could take it with you virtually anywhere that has a computer or USB outlet. A great idea if it actually comes to fruition. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this in the future.

COPENHAGEN ZOO ADVERTISING

This great ad campaign just came out from Y&R and artistic director Peder Schack to promote the Copenhagen Zoo. A really well executed campaign, the advertisement comes in the form of a bus wrap depicting a snake crunching the bus.

Once upon a time, I was a wide-eyed intern at Y&R and remember something similar that was done in the subways of NYC for the Bronx Zoo. A really great example of working outside the box from a firm I have come to truly respect as an icon in the advertising world.

SCULPTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY BY SZYMON ROGINSKI AND KASIA KORZENIECKA

Polish photographer Szymon Roginski recently joined forces with Kasia Korzeniecka to create these really beautiful pieces for fashion designer Ania Kuczynska as a unique way to display her 2009 spring/summer line. They call the pieces photo sculptures and they are created by taking a normal photograph of a model in Ania's clothes, reimagining it in a 3 dimensional format, and then making that structure a reality by taking the photo apart and assembling it back together as a dimensional piece.
